Frequently asked questions

Common questions about how HouSave works, what it is not, and when a licensed review is needed.

Is this a mortgage application?
No. HouSave builds a personalized mortgage roadmap. Nothing you do here starts, submits, or completes a mortgage application.
Is this a pre-approval?
No. HouSave does not issue approvals or pre-approvals. A pre-approval requires a licensed mortgage loan originator to review and verify your documents.
Is there a credit pull?
No. HouSave never pulls your credit. When a credit score matters for planning, Alice asks you to select an estimated range.
Does HouSave ask for my SSN?
No. Alice never asks for a Social Security number, an ITIN number, a passport or visa document number, a bank account number, or a card number, and there is no document upload.
Can 1099 and self-employed borrowers use HouSave?
Yes. Alice asks about self-employment, business ownership and how long you have been in your field, and reflects that in the planning paths she shows.
What are the Bank Statement and DSCR paths?
They are alternative documentation approaches used by some lenders. A Bank Statement path looks at business or personal deposit activity instead of tax returns. A DSCR path looks at the rental income of an investment property. HouSave explains them for planning; a licensed loan originator confirms whether either is available for your situation.
What happens with Foreign National or Fix and Flip cases?
HouSave can explain how these paths generally work, but they depend heavily on lender-specific guidelines. These cases are referred to a licensed mortgage loan originator for review.
How accurate are the payment and cash-to-close estimates?
They are planning estimates built from the information you provide and stated assumptions. They are not quotes. Real numbers depend on verified income, credit, property details, and current pricing, all of which change.
When does a licensed review become necessary?
Whenever documents, income, credit or property details need to be verified, or when your situation involves alternative documentation. That review is done by a licensed mortgage loan originator, not by Alice.
Which states are supported?
Personalized licensed service is available only in the states listed on the Supported States page. General planning guidance is available more broadly.
